OK, one more post about external hard drives. When I retire a hard drive I run File Shredder to wipe the disk then put it up on the shelf. I started using digital cameras in1997. That is about the time I got the 320 GB Toshiba drive. And as the number of photos in the database increased, I invested in bigger drives. Over the years I have had only on hard disk bite the dust that I can remember. It wasn't a big problem because I keep multiple backups of everything. These drives aren't worth very much. The 5TB drive I bought for $105 earlier this year. I have one more drive not pictured, the one in the safe deposit box.
