Today was our escape from California. There were lots of good things like our grandsons' first communion and spending time with the family. On the other hand, California is extremely expensive and packed with traffic jams. We spent 3 hours going 104 miles, even starting before rush hour. You can't find gas for less than $4.50 (it is $2.89 at our station back home). Admissions to attractions are outrageous ($60/ per person at the San Diego Zoo). You can't get a decent six pack of beer for less than $10. It was with great relief that we escaped into Arizona this morning.
