This was a touring day. We stayed in Monterey, CA, and headed out to Point Lobos State Reserve early. It is a place that fills up fast. We were the fourth car in line. Our plan was to do some hiking and photography. It was overcast at first, but the sun eventually came out. I was trying out my new Powershot SX70 in the field for the first time. After looking at the photos in the evening, I would conclude that it is serviceable within limitations. This photo was taken at 1320 mm. After some tickling with Topaz, it came out decent enough for the web or a 4X6 print. This is a sea otter, BTW. They are cute little guys.
