Our horizons were a bit more limited today. We headed a little north of Niagara Falls, Ontario and stopped at a power plant and a floral clock. Then we took a ride on the Whirlpool Aero Car. It looked a bit dodgy but turned out to be a lot of fun. It is an aerial tramway that traverses back and forth across the whirlpools in the Niagara River. The whole trip is about 10 minutes long. You get a good look at the whirlpools which are unique in the Niagara River. Today's photo is of the Aero Car starting across the river.
In the afternoon we hiked from the hotel back down to the river to get to the edge of Horseshoe Falls. It looked pretty much like the edges of the other falls, as you might expect. After dinner we went back down to the falls for the lighting of the falls and the fireworks. That was pretty neat. We got a good spot for viewing and enjoyed the show. I will say that lighting the falls with colored lights is underwhelming, but it is a must see, especially from the Canadian side. The fireworks were great and we were very close to them.
