This was the first day of sightseeing on the trip. We spent the day hiking around Niagara Falls. The start was a trip on the Maid of the Mist. That was a Bucket List item for me. Getting in line for tickets early is a good idea. We were on the first boat to depart. It was quite an experience. The boat lingers in the middle of Horseshoe Falls during which time the wind and spray is impressive (and excessive). I found it hard to see and ended up looking through the plastic hood of my rain gear. I am happy that we did it, but I have no desire to do it again. During the remainder of the day we hiked around Niagara Falls State Park which included Goat Island. It was fun.
