It was a Getty day. We visited the Getty Museum and the Getty Villa. It was all about art. I have little interest in art, but Ginny loves it. So I am happy to go along and not be a nuisance so she can take her time and see stuff. The Museum is a typical art museum, you know pictures on the wall and statues and some decorative things. There was an exhibit of the photography of Imogen Cunningham which was pretty good.
In order to see the Villa we had to go across town to the edge of Malibu. It is set overlooking the Pacific. I enjoyed this one quite a bit because it was archaeological items from Rome, Greece, Assyria, etc. The building itself is a full scale reconstruction of the Villa dei Papiri in Herculaneum which was buried when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. So all in all it was an artful day and we had a good time.
Today's photo is taken in the courtyard of the Villa. These guys really know how to tend a garden.
