Today is Good Friday, the last Friday in Lent. Our menu today was terrific. In addition to grilled shrimp like last Friday, we had fried okra. That is my favorite vegetable. Because I had the deep fryer set up on the side burner of the grill, cooking was a snap. I went to the store to buy some okra. They had nice fresh okra which was a bit expensive. I checked out the frozen stuff and to my great excitement they had frozen breaded okra. That would mean no prep work. I decided to give it a try and it worked out great. Life is good. So is fried okra.
