Our database of photographs is pretty big. As you can see, 244,725 images in 5,390 folders. That is a shedload of data. I have a good back up system which involves three different locations. Preserving the data is not a problem. Viewing it in Lightroom can be a problem. In the left colmn where the catalog and collections are displayed, when there are too many folders in the catalog, the collections gets pushed off the bottom. Over the years what I have done is combine daily folders as subfolders in a monthly folder. That reduces the number of top level folders to be displayed and lets the collections back in at the bottom. That works, but I was wondering if anybody has any better ideas. I want to keep all the photos in one catalog.
