We had a visit to the Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo. It is a new facility which is being expanded, eventually. The big draw is the mummy collection in the basement. I am not real big on viewing mummies, so it was a quick pass through for me. One exhibit that caught my attention was this chariot that belonged to Thutmose IV. That was during the 18th dynasty about 1400 BC. The chariot was covered in finely tooled leather which you can see in the photo. Not bad for a 3400 year old relic.
