A couple days ago I got a new iPhone 12 Pro Max. It was expensive, but what the heck. I wanted it. Ginny was supportive so it turned into a no-brainer and I am the right person to handle it.

I fired off a few shots yesterday under uncontrolled conditions to see how the camera works. It has three lenses which are labeled 0.5, 1.0 and 2.5 which are supposed to be 13, 25 and 65 mm equivalents. I used those three in the kitchen and got the results you see below. The 12 megapixel photos looked pretty good on the phone's screen, but on close examination in Lightroom things were not very sharp and in the case of the 13mm frame, it was quite noisy. It had chosen ISO 320 while the others were 64 and 100. Lots of work needs to be done. First thing I have to do is figure out how to control the camera. As you know, anything in the Apple world is hard to understand and control.

Looks like some serious testing is in order.
