It was a beautiful day in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. We had booked a rafting trip on the Kennicott River. The trip was a lot of fun. All we did was sit in the raft while the guides maneuvered the boats. The river flows fast, about 7-8 miles per hour. It is almost entirely rapids which makes it fun. The guides offered a very nice lunch.
At the end of the whole deal we took a flight back to McCarthy. The crew packed everything up and a DeHaviland Beaver arrived to transport us back, equipment and all. I got to sit in the right seat which was a treat. We did a little flightseeing on the way back. Today's photo is of McCarthy airport on short final. Very cool adventure.
