Ginny has been selling some jigsaw puzzles on eBay. Part of the process is to solve the puzzle to show that all the pieces are present and photograph it. She has done a lot of the solving, but since the blackout last week, the puzzles have been sitting on a card table next to the kitchen French doors where the light is very good during the day. Yesterday we started into the last of them. It is a puzzle of three Dalmatians sitting in front of a polka dot background. It is very hard for three reasons. First, the background is repetitive without clues about adjacent pieces. There are a lot of white pieces with tiny bits of black. Second, the dogs are hard because there is no definitive pattern and the three dogs have about the same colors. Finally all the pieces are about the same shape, two heads opposite each other and two indents opposite each other. I worked on it quite a while today and hope to finish it tomorrow.
