Today is Super Bowl Sunday. I watch very few football games. The Super Bowl was the second one this year. From what I could gather, it was supposed to be a match up between two phenomenal quarterbacks. That made it interesting. One side light is that the federal government is now dictating how to have a Super Bowl party. The CDC set guidelines which include "Avoid shouting, cheering loudly, or singing. Clap, stomp your feet, or bring (or provide) hand-held noisemakers instead."
In order to get into the right frame of mind for the game, I decided that chili dogs, potato chips and beer would make acceptable light (!) refreshments. I skipped the buns and put the hot dogs in a big bowl with mustard, chopped onions, jalapenos, bacon, chili and grated cheese. Some kettle chips and a bottle of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale filled out the meal and I settled down for the game with great expectations. As you know, it turned out to be a crappy game. The important thing was that the refreshments were excellent and Ginny liked them too.
