I have been (slowly) working on my Cessna. I am doing an overhaul which includes a major electrical upgrade. The guy who put this airplane together did some idiotic things. Eight years ago I straightened out the fuses for the avionics. They were located in a fuse holder behind the panel which could not be reached in flight. I built a breaker panel to take care of that.

But there were still fuse holders behind the panel for various things, two of which were hardly accessible even on the ground lying on your back. There were runs of wiring which made no sense. There was a 1 foot segment of coaxial cable with nothing on it. And other stuff. So I decided to put everything right. That has turned into a major project. One of the impediments was the ungodly number of tie wraps used to secure the system. Dozens of them. It takes a lot of time to cut them especially when they are way out of reach. It can be very frustrating at times. Sometimes I just have to set a spell and gather my wits. Today's photo is a peek behind the instrument panel. You can see several examples of tie wraps on top of tie wraps. My objective in this whole thing is to improve the maintainability of the airplane.
