This morning we hit the road at 6:20 am. When getting out of town we have to go down Route 400 and take the 285 loop around to 85 south. The very early start allows us to beat the commuter traffic. We breezed through town and avoided all the rush. We made a short gas stop in Greenville, AL. Our objective for the night was Covington, LA, where we planned to meet up with our son David and his girl friend Kristie. Once again we got lucky on the traffic and got into hour hotel about 1:00 pm. We ended up with a whole unplanned afternoon which we put to good use. Ginny worked on the pictures for several hours and in the end we sent them off to Walgreens at home so they will be ready when we get back to town.

We had dinner with David and Kristie at a place called The Chimes in Covington. Very good food. I got an Oyster PoBoy which was monstrous. The portion sizes are so large that everybody needed a to-go box in the end. We had a great time hearing about David's adventures in Nepal and Kristie's adventures with her dog Mako at two agility contests in Europe. Check this out from 2017.

We brought some Christmas presents for them which they opened after dinner. It was fun. Today's photo is of the group after dinner.
