We had more than half the day to do some touring before the wedding. Our objective was Fort Pickens which is on the western end of Santa Rosa Island. The fort was part of the third system of fortifications and was finished in 1834. It was nice and sunny, and hot. We had a demonstration of firing an Enfield rifle musket which was used widely in the civil war. We walked around the whole thing and then listened to a talk about the history.
Back at the hotel we got cleaned up and ready for the wedding which was going to be outdoors at 4:30. We picked up our friends Sid and Marianne and headed to the venue. Rain clouds were gathering and sure enough it started to rain. The ceremony went on and it rained like hell. this was going to be a memorable wedding for everybody. The reception was indoors and the food and fellowship was first rate. A good time was had by all.
Today's photo is of Samantha being taken down the aisle by her father.
