Day Fifteen
So the festivities of my 50th high school reunion began in earnest. Ginny and I drove around Downers Grove looking at the sights. We visited the grade school, Pierce Downer, the junior high, Herrick, and the high school. Really just hung out.
This was homecoming weekend. The main activities in the afternoon were a pep rally and parade. The rally went on for 1 1/2 hours with just about every conceivable performing group putting on a show. It was very good. Then the parade. They had arranged a school bus to drive our class and that ended up fortunate because it was raining.
After the parade there was a get together at Donna's house which was very nice. Pizza and cake. We dawdled there quite a while. Everyone was supposed to go to the game, but that didn't materialize. In the end I took Ginny back to the hotel and I went to a pizza joint called Roundheads to shoot some candids. The usual class photographer was indisposed. They came out nice.
All in all a very good day. Met a lot of old friends and had some fun. Our class was given a special seating section at the pep rally. It sorta felt they were showing the students what they might look like in fifty years.
