Day Two
It was a relaxing morning at Jan and Terry's house. We lingered over breakfast and solved most of the problems in the world. Then it was off to Oklahoma City to visit some great friends we met when we volunteered at Fort Clatsop in the summer. They had just recently relocated from Yuma to Yukon, OK. We caught up on all the gossip about our National Park friends and then headed out for supper. Whenever you are in a locality that is not your own home town, it is nice to be able to sample the local cuisine. In this part of the country, local cuisine included chicken fried steak and white gravy. The old Route 66 goes right through Oklahoma city and we dined at Ann's Chicken Fry House. An establishment that dates back to the early '40s when Route 66 was in its hey-day. It is right on Route 66. Today's photo is in front of a vintage 1950 Dodge police car. The chicken fried steak was very good. We had a very nice time with Beth and Dave.
