They call baseball America's pastime. I like to watch baseball. It is especially fun to watch baseball in person when the 5 and 6 year olds are at it. Every single one of those little guys out there puts on his own show. We went to a game today that our grandson Peyton was playing in. This is his second year playing organized ball. What's not to like, you get a cool uniform to wear and your own bat and glove. Here in Alpharetta it was a hot day. Part of the stands were in the shade so the rooting section, sister, mom, dad and all four grandparents, had some relief from the hot sun.
I pulled out my 100-400 and had a go at getting some pictures. It had been a long time since I had taken action shots and the learning curve was quite steep. Also, the sunlight on the dirt made for a very orange reflection which could be adjusted in post processing fairly quickly. It also illuminated the faces so they weren't too terribly dark. So I followed my grandson around the field trying to get something good. Happily, there were a bunch of good ones in the batch, one of which is today's photo. This is Peyton starting down the first base line on his way to a home run. How cool is that?
