Day Twenty Three
We ended up with a long day of driving. The original intention was to visit Mariposa Grove in Yosemite. Unfortunately, the wild fires cause the National Park Service to close the site for a while. So then there was alternate plan B. We drove to San Jose to have a tour of the Winchester Mystery House. Sarah Winchester, the very wealthy widow of the son of the founder of Winchester Repeating Arms, built the thing over 38 years. It grew and incorporated a bunch of strange design elements. You might have heard of the doors to nowhere. There was a fireplace that was used in three rooms. It is quite a sprawling place. We had a couple of tours and found it interesting. Today's photo is of the exterior. We ended the day with a long drive to our airBNB in Dunlap, California. It was worth it.
