Another nice morning shooting at the range. Today I went through a lot of 9mm ammunition in these three guns. The top one is a Beretta M9, the standard issue side arm of the US military from 1987 to a few years ago. The magazines hold 15 rounds. I usually only load 5 rounds because that is the size of the standard string I shoot. I like this one because it has a hammer so you can see instantly whether the gun is cocked. There is also a little indicator that tells you if there is a round in the chamber. It is a lot of fun to shoot.

The middle one is the Sig Sauer P320. This is the new standard issue side arm of the US military. There were some teething problems with it, but now everything seems to be straightened out. This pistol is a striker fired gun. All of the firing mechanism is internal. The trigger pull is not too bad because the gun places itself in a half cocked position when you rack the slide. The resulting trigger pull isn't too long or too hard. I like this pistol. I do not shoot it well. Lots of practice required. My plan is to shoot a match at the end of June with this gun.

The bottom one is a Sig Sauer P938. This is my concealed carry gun. I can shoot it pretty well. I make it a practice of firing 50 rounds through it each time I go to the pistol range. It has a 3 inch barrel and a 4 inch sight radius. It also fires a 9mm round so it has plenty of punch.

Just curious---have you ever been wearing your
concealed carry weapon when you were with me?
