Yesterday I mentioned that I went to San Antonio (Pleasanton, really) to get some cylinders for the Cessna. It needs a top overhaul and I decided on brand new Milennium cylinders. Lotsa money, but peace of mind. Today I started into the overhaul. It is a tedious process which requires dismantling everything on the engine. There is a lot to dismantle. I spent six uninterrupted hours on it and only got to removing the exhaust system, which is going to be a pain. A bunch of the nuts are rusted which means drastic measures. I finally gave up and called it a day. Sometimes an overnight think leads to better solutions. So today's photo is of the six boxed cylinders in front of the airplane. These include all the hardware as well as gaskets and new rocker box covers. When done, it is going to look very nice indeed.
