After church this morning we headed out to the Brandywine River Museum. We have been there several times before. It is an art museum that is mostly about N.C.Wyeth and his progeny. If you walk through the galeries, you will see some recognizble paintings. Ginny likes that stuff, so she can knock herself out looking at paintings.
The real reason we went there is that they have a model railroad layout that is phenomenal. The grandkids love it. I like it. It is fun to watch all the trains run and all the scenery doing stuff.
I had an interesting discussion with Christiane. If you look at all the Wyeth paintings at the museum, there aren't any that are happy or joyful. It must be terrible to go through life if you personal outlook is reflected in your paintings and there is no joy. If you think about it, there really are very few happy, joyful paintings out there by any artist, excepting of course, Dogs playing poker and a velvet Elvis. That is a shame. In today's photo we are having a good time watching the trains and pushing some buttons that make things happen in the display. That was fun and joyful.
