Back in the good old days of automobiles things were much simpler. Ginny was out and about today and called because the van wouldn't start. She said she heard clicking. Now, we all know what that means. The started solenoid is clicking because there is either (a) a flat battery or (b) a loose connection. So I headed out as if I were the knight in shining armor en route to save the damsel. Well, things didn't quite work as planned. The electrical system was definitely bonkers. I turned the key and heard clicking from several places. There are quite a few relays in a modern car. I had a look at the connections and they seemed fine. So after monkeying around with only a few tools (a pliers and an adjustable spanner) we decided to call a tow truck and take the van to the shop. It being late on a Saturday afternoon, it was clear that it would not be reapired today. Our photo for the day is the van being towed to the shop. I am going to have a talk with the chauffer, he is a little hard on the rolling stock.
