Wednesday night means Trivia at a local watering hole, the Crescent City Connection. We have been doing this weekly game for several years. The original venue closed and we migrated to the current one in the spring. Our team remains the same, church friends. We have lots of fun. Ginny and I split a fried catfish platter and have a big beer. Our friends have various drinks and food as well. The game is four rounds of six questions followed by a bonus math question worth two points. We have won on occasion, but it seems like we are stuck in a rut of third place. Actually, it doesn't matter because beer, food and fellowship trump performance as far as I am concerned.
During the course of the game, Ginny and some other team members try to write down the questions and answers. Ginny and her friend Karen from New Orleans share the questions over the phone. Karen attends a game in New Orleans on Tuesday night. Because of the press of time, the questions are sometimes not copied correctly or the answers are forgotten. So I got to thinking, why not use the dandy new smart phone for something fun. As an experiment, I photographed all the second half questions and answers. The result was an accurate record of the proceedings. I sent them to Ginny's phone, and we will see if she finds it handy to do things that way. In the morning she will make her daily call to Karen which includes trivia questions on Thursday mornings.
Ain't technology great?
