Let me tell you about my experience ordering a computer from HP. For days I have been playing around on their website setting up customized computers and trying to understand what some of the items are. I could easily figure out I wanted maximum RAM which is 16Gig. I also wanted the largest solid state drive which is 1TB. There were lots of questions I had and found that it was slow going trying to figure them out from the web site. Finally, I decided to give their sales department a call. To my great pleasure, the person who answered was a very pleasant young lady who was a native English speaker and was working in Boise, Idaho. That was a good start.
So I started asking questions and she answered every one of them promptly and satisfactorily. Finally, I knew the model I wanted and the stuff to go with it. She patiently put all that stuff together and we ended up with a good result. Then she said, if I started with a slight different set up, I could end up with the exact same thing for $200 less. Wow. Of course I went for that.
Then she asked if I would like the 3 year extended warranty and phone support with accidental care. If you drop and break it, they will repair it. Normally such warranties are to be avoided but there was a gigantic pot sweetener. If after 3 years you have not had any repairs, they will refund the $300 warranty purchase price. How good a deal is that? Of course I went for that one.
So the order was placed. It will be built in China and will take a couple weeks to get here. Of course, the excitement will mount as time goes on. It is going to be a hoot.
