Today it was a trip to Frys and Best Buy to have a look at computers. Haven't done that in a long time. The last time I bought a lap top was 2011. Frys had a very good selection including some high end models, one of which I ended up buying. This time it was different. The display models were for the most part the lowest cost versions. The sales person was not helpful at all. Said he would have a look in inventory and then disappeared. So it was on to Best Buy. Same sort of situation except the computers were displayed by manufacturer, unlike Frys which is a hodge podge of models. The sales person at Best Buy was helpful. It was instructive to look over the various HP models on display because the nature of external connectors has changed. There are no longer SD card slots in most models. None have an ethernet connector. The USB connectors are variable. They have the conventional A connectors and the new C connectors which are quite a bit smaller. All the USB connections are 3.0 or 3.1. I am glad I had a chance to look that stuff over. But, as with Frys, Best Buy had only the base models available. Definitely going to be an order direct from HP. Now, the choice is 13 or 15 inch.
Ginny's photo is up today because it is Trivia Night. Here she is sitting at our table enjoying her iPhone messaging with our friend Liz. Liz was running a little late and she wanted Ginny to order a drink for her before happy hour was over. I knew those smart phones were good for something.
