Although there were intentions to give the iPhone camera a real workout today, that didn't happen. My objective was to get the damn iPhone and my iPad to talk to my PC. I have remarked before that I don't think too much of Apple as an organization. I searched their web sites to find an answer to a problem I was having. There was an error: "iTunes could not connect to the ipad because an invalid response was received from the device" that happened every time I tried to hook up an Apple device to my computer. I spent a long time following threads which led nowhere. There was no definitive answer to the problem.

So I said to myself, "Screw these idiots." First thing was to uninstall every single Apple program on my PC. The next step was to download and make a fresh install if iTunes. That finished, I hooked my phone up and everything worked just right. Additionally, I could easily download the photos I had taken on my iPhone to my PC. And I could also hook up my iPad. That was all a good thing.

I did take some photos to test the transfer process. I still have to download them to one location then move them to my photo library. The problem is getting the file names and folder names right. Anyway, it does work now and I am a happy camper.

Today I messed around a little with white balance. The iPhone is supposed to be pretty good at it. My quick test indicated that there is room for improvement. It does seem to function like the AWB (automatic white balance) on my cameras. A little tweak in Lightroom gets you pretty close. One thing I like is the simple panorama shooting.

Today's photo is, obviously, a selfie. Now I have got it out of my system. I promise to never do it again. Honest!

I'll believe your promise when I don't see it.
