We spent some time in Butte, Montana today. This town was built on hard rock mining. There were lots of underground mines and a giant pit mine, but today there is only one small pit mine still operating. They have an interesting museum about all that mining. We got a guided tour which included a short trip underground in the Orphan Girl mine. After a hour long guided tour of the town on a trolley, we headed out to Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park.
