October 21, 2015

We spent the day mostly in the Phoenix area. First stop was the Arizona state capitol. This was the 31st capitol we have visited. It was interesting. Later we headed to Taliesin West in Scottsdale (adjacent to Phoenix). This was the winter home for Frank Lloyd Wright for about 22 years. It was interesting to me. We got a very good tour from a person who knew all about the place. It is still in use today as a studio and educational facility where students come to get degrees in architecture. Today's photo is a panorama which includes the studios and the living area. There are lots of people in residence here.

We then headed toward Tucson for the night. On the way we stopped at Saguaro National Monument (west) for a look around.

When we got to our hotel we were politely informed that there was a free happy hour in progress. That sounded real good to us. Nothing like free beer and wine to close out your travel day.
