This is my Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer. I got it about 7 years ago when for some foolish reason I saw myself getting into the photography business in one way or another. I used it for a while to see what I could produce and found that it is capable of producing very good prints. It has sat unused for maybe 5 years. The ink jets are clogged in two of the channels. I want to get it going again because I have a project or two in mind.

Over the years we have tended to do less and less printing. We all look at screens. Heck, that is what pbase is all about. I one time had a vision of pulling together some of my better photos and making a little personal exhibition of them. Yeah I could probably farm the printing out for cheaper than I can do it myself, but that would take some of the fun out of it.

Anyway, I have mail ordered an apparatus and cleaning liquid that is supposed to solve my problem. I will let you know if it works. It is supposed to arrive on Friday.

I would love to print more photos, but the cost of print cartridges is utterly ridiculous. A rough calculation shows you are paying about £4,500 per gallon for the ink.
When I started computing cartridges were about £25 each. I used a refill kit and filled them for about 25p each. Usually filled them about 10 times before the quality of printing dropped. So of course the big manufacturers soon stopped that with chips in the cartridges whereby refilled ones would not work.
I just do not print anymore, shame.
