We took a road trip down to New Castle today. Over the last few weeks we have learned a lot about Delaware history. We closed the loop on Revolutioinalry Delaware with a visit to the New Castle Courthouse which was also the seat of Delaware government until 1777 when the British presence in Delaware Bay made relocation a necessity. They moved to Dover and have been there ever since. We also visited the Amstel House and Dutch House which are preserved structures from the early 1700s. These were interesting as well. It was a pleasant day. We stopped at a Delaware liquor store on the return to stock up. Alcoholic beverages are very expensive in Pennsylvania.
