The funeral for Ginny's father was held today in North Plains, Oregon. Two of our sone were able to attend which was a great comfort to Ginny. They also did the readings at the funeral mass. Ginny's dad lived his entire 93 years in the North Plains area, 68 of those years in the same house on the farm.
Today's photo is a family shot with Robert and Richard. Our son David was not able to attend. The real story of this photo is that I had a hell of a time getting it right. The problem was that the exposure that the camera (G15) chose was random. Sometimes way too light and sometimes way too dark. I was frustrated by the whole thing and so were the boys.
Last night I got to thinking about it and came to the conclusion that the exposure algorithm was somehow being fooled by some elements in the scene. This is not the first time that this has happened to us. Unfortunately my brain locked up and I didn't go to the obvious solution of shooting in manual mode. I have to remember this next time it happens.
