We arrived back in Houston this morning about 9 am. It felt good to get back to the house and unload our stuff. The big difference between an airplane trip and a road trip is the amount of crap we haul along. Ginny can fill the van with all manner of crap when we do a road trip and it takes quite a while to unload it when we get home. Today, there was only one suitcase each and life was easy. Ginny was interested to see how her garden was doing. It looks like a jungle but there is good stuff out there. We got carrots, tomatoes and squash which were very good. Our unlucky streak continued because the dishwasher had decided to pack it in. Can't have that. Time for a new one. That was a project for tomorrow.
So, back at home. It feels good to be home and I have a bunch of stuff I want to do in the next week or so. I really am loathe to return home because I have so much fun on our trips. But, you gotta do it every once in a while, and it does remind me of how much our home means to us.
