April 11, 2014

Today is a Lenten Friday which in our Catholic tradition says no meat. You may remember way back when that calendars had little fish symbols on all fridays and various other days when Catholics would not eat meat. Nowdays, that tradition has been whittled down to just Lent. Oh well, we uphold the tradition in our house. Just because there is no meat allowed doesn't mean that you can't enjoy what you eat. I decided it was time for a trip to Sonic and have a double fish sandwich and tater tots. When I got home, I significantly enhanced the sandwich by adding more mayonnaise and a pot load of jalapenos. Delicious. Life is good!

Now that you mention it, I do remember the little
fish symbols on calendars. I also remember the
Legion of Decency and masses said in Latin.
