We headed out at 6am this morning for a short road trip to Austin. We are going to meet up with some of my high school classmates for a trip to the Salt Lick Barbeque on Saturday night. This is one of those places you see all the time on those foodie channels when they are reviewing barbeque joints. Anyway, Ginny and I figured we should do some sight seeing while we were here. The early departure was to make it to a 10 am tour of the governor's mansion. We made it in plenty of time. Then we went to the state capitol and then we went to an art gallery. What I put up with sometimes is quite staggering to a bloke. So today's photo is of the south side of the capitol building. It has really beautiful pink granite. BTW-the art really was crappy except for the Incan pottery traveling exhibit and an exhibit of famous American western artists like CM Russell and Frederick Remington. We have better stuff on the agenda tomorrow.
