These are dried peppers. I am not sure what variety they are. Kroger said they were anchos, but I am not so sure. Anyway, I had a hankering for chili and decided to start with the dried chilis rather than using chili powder. It takes some preparation time and it was a lot of fun. What was even more fun was eating the chili I made. Ginny liked it. We even finished up a bottle of champagne we had sitting in the refrigerator. Life is good....and fun!

Turns out, whatever variety of pepper these were, they were not very hot. I removed the seeds and stems. I think the seeds are normally the source of hot and the flesh is the source of flavor.

I do like chili, and it is always fun to make your own. Although I couldn't eat so many :)
