We spent another whole day around Springfield. Definitely in the Land of Lincoln. We visited the Old Statehouse and got a nice guided tour. Then we went over to the Lincoln Presidential Museum and spent quite a while in there. It was very interesting. We were surprised that the President and his family took the time to pose with us for a picture. What a guy! After lunch we went out to New Salem to visit the reconstruction of the village where Lincoln lived for a while before he went to Springfield to be a lawyer. The rest is history. I am very excited about tomorrow because we are heading to Downers Grove for my 45th high school reunion. We do it up right by holding it during homecoming weekend. Lots of other classes will be doing the same. We are going to spend the weekend there before heading out east on our road trip.
