And so we arrived in Madrid today. As with most flights from the states, we got in late morning and found ourselves at the hotel before check in time. They stashed our bags and we decided to hit the town. The objective was to stay awake and active until local bed time. We headed up to Plaza Mayor and checked out the information center. There were some walking tours Ginny wanted to do and she wanted to book them for today. I said lets see how it goes before plunking down money. That turned out to be a real good call. Went over to the Royal Palace and had a tour of it with an audio guide. It was very good. It is good to be king for sure. After that we decided that the energy level was getting pretty low, so we searched out a grocery store and stocked up on wine, beer and munchies. Back at the hotel we got settled in and had some wine and cheese and bread. Very nice. Todays photo is of the Royal Palace.
