Buttoned up and ready for a check flight. I got the Swift back together this afternoon and was ready for an FCF (functional check flight) when the phone rang. It was Ginny. I needed to get home soon to help her pick the type of shades she wants to put in the living room. Remembering that DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY TRUMPS AVIATION, I headed home to provide my expert opinion on this particular interior decorating decision. This took about five minutes, four and a half longer than it needed to take. Girls spend a lot of time talking to make the point. I chose one possibility as my favorite and Ginny asked, "don't you think the other one is better?" That is code for "Wrong Answer." Well, I didn't have to look on my neighbor's test paper to get this one right, so I said, "You're right, dear," those three little words that keep a marriage going tickety-boo (apologies, John, I hope I have used that word properly in context). The next thing I said is, "I think I will test that whisky I finished yesterday and see if it is still good." Life is good, and interesting around Ginny. |
