Well, we are back home after a really cool road trip. We stopped today at Stennis Space Center on our way home. Our trip computer said we covered 3413.4 miles and averaged 25.8 miles per gallon. Our new Honda Odyssey was a joy to drive and I thought the mileage was pretty good. We travel as fast as the law allows all the time. On I-10 when you come into Texas the speed limit is 75. Watching the instantaneous mileage readout, I could see that mileage drops off quickly with speed. If we did the whole trip at 70, the elapsed time would be 49 hours. At 55 it would be 62 hours. That is a big difference. So now we stay here in Houston before heading out on our next road trip at the end of January. Don't worry, I will not be bored. There are airplanes to be played with and Rob, Laura and Peyton come to town next weekend.
