We found out what life is going to be like on this boat. Last night we had a great dinner and we can plainly see that meals are going to be very nice. We toured around Amsterdam today while the boat repositioned to Utrecht. We went back on board and finally we were under way. The first part of the trip is along the Amsterdam Rhine canal which connects Amsterdam with the Rhine River (duh!). There is quite a bit of boat traffic on this stretch because it is a water connection with industrial Germany. I shot this photo looking forward in the lounge. It is a nice place to sit and look at stuff going by. We were told there were 68 locks we would pass through on this journey. In the end, it was always fun to watch the passage through the locks. Often there was only a couple feet clearance on the sides. The boat is 110 meters and 19.5 meters wide.
