Rob and Laura sent me some goodies from Omaha Steaks for my birthday. Today we decided to cook some hamburgers from the shipment. As you probably know, a hamburger isn't worth eating unless you have applied an appropriate amount of stuff on top of it. Also for my birthday, Pat gave me some uncured bacon. Blind luck or happy coincidence? Anyway, I decided to throw the bacon in the smoker and it came out very nice. So, hamburger, bacon, Tillamook cheddar and grilled onions on a whole wheat bun (toasted, of course) made for a delicious meal. Ginny had made some of her famous potato salad, so we enhanced the pleasure with some of that. Oh yes, a beer to round things off. Thanks Rob and Laura. Thanks Pat.
