I continue to make good progress bringing the Swift back to life. As I have commented before, I am finding lots of things that need attention and I am going to get them all done this time around so I have non of those nagging little squawks in the back of my mind. As long as I had the left landing gear out, I figured it would be a good opportunity to replace the seals in everything. The last time I did this was about ten years ago. At that time I did the job while the strut was attached to the airplane. That was hard. This time I had the luxury of working on it on the benck. Much easier. One of the great things about our hangar situation is that we have all the tools normally needed right in the hangar or readily available from the guys next door. The tool that made this job a lot easier was an arbor press which Curtis next door had in his hangar. Looking ahead, the last critical part is due to arrive late Monday so I can really start putting the bird back together.

When nothing else works, hit it with a hammer. Aircraft maintenance at its best ?
