Finally someone is taking seriously the ever-present danger in the handling of watermelons! Just yesterday I read of an accident in Notner in which a man was hospitalized with broken bones, contusions, and scratches due to the dropping of a watermelon. Last week two little kids were knocked unconscious when a watermelon rolled across a store aisle and pinned them against a bin of bananas. One can never be too careful. I always wear steel-toed boots, a hard hat, safety goggles, and gloves when handling those beasts.
