Seeing as how I really am a by gosh scientist, I get the urge to experiment once in a while. My boys and I have always pursued the ultimate in home made fried onion rings. I was looking at a bunch of cooking stuff recently and decided I finally figured out how to do it. So an experiment was in order. I fired up the deep fryer on the side burner and proceeded to fabricate the onion rings for frying. This attempt involved three trips between milk and flour. They were pretty good. Ginny thought they were OK, just too much coating. She remembers the ones we would get at the Beacon in Spartanburg, SC. I think I have it now, and am looking forward to the next experiment.
