We were heading north from Inverness today toward Wick. Along the way we made a nice stop at Dunrobin Castle, the home of the hated Sutherlands who joyously suppressed the highland culture after the uprising of 1745. They apparently did quite well because they were able to build one hell of a castle. This was really more that "ABC" (another bloody castle). They had a falconry demonstration that was very interesting. We liked that a lot. There was also a small museum which featured the family collection of interesting stuff. To me, the coolest parts were the relics of the earliest Scots. These were mostly carved stones. This was truly an interesting stop. This is Ginny peering off the balcony of the castle.
