It was a beautiful day. After church we attended the Knights of Columbus breakfast with our friends then headed home. I decided it was about time to get my sorry rear end airborne. I hadn't flown since November. I went out to the airport and pulled out the Cessna. It looked a little gusty, but the hangar door was in the lee of the wind, so I didn't really know what the situation was. The windsock indicated a fairly healthy wind. I taxied out to runway 30 and let her rip. No sooner was I up about 100 feet and realized that it was pretty gusty. Lots of unstable air which is no real problem, just not the idyllic conditions I had imagined. I did three circuits and decided to call it good.
