It was a pretty boring day. You can tell because the highlight of it was a trip to the bank and a free cup of bank coffee. Gosh, the days are just packed.
Recipe for alleviating boredom:
1. Place filled or partially-filled cup of coffee on dashboard, being careful not to spill it (a mess would alleviate boredom but cause unnecessary anguish).
2. Turn on ignition, release the brake, and slam the gas pedal.
3. Watch with interest and awe as the laws of physics cause the cup of coffee to change its position and attitude relative to the dashboard. If the slamming was sufficient, some of the coffee will free-fall onto the car seat or your lap. (If the coffee is still hot and a tape recorder is running, play back the tape to analyze the verbal response to the free-fall.)
It's guaranteed to perk up your day. But don't take my word for it---try it.
