24-JAN-2010 Ginny Cross

Today is the day of the NFL Conference playoffs. I am not the world's biggest NFL football fan (my son David probably holds that honor), but I do like to watch it, especially the post season stuff. Today, the game I was most interested in was the Vikings-Saints match-up. I was hoping the Saints would win, and they did. I will be rooting for them in the World Series, oops, I mean the Stupor Bowl, correction - the Super Bowl.

In preparation for the game I decided that it would be appropriate to prepare a thematic snack. I decided on sauteed shrimp with garlic and fried boudin. Here I am finishing off the shrimp dish. Ginny, as always, was skeptical about what I was doing. She is skeptical about anything I do, as a matter of fact. I got all sorts of suggestions, but I just bulled ahead and finished the task. She said she didn't want any boudin when we were getting it at the store. You know "You are going to have to eat that all by yourself." Life is tough! So anyway, when I finished everything she tasted it and decided it was "FANTASTIC". Even the fried boudin. So we ate almost all of it. There were four pieces of shrimp left, which went into the refrigerator and I am confident that somebody (Ginny) will have them for breakfast. Note to David: Try skinning the boudin and slicing it up (do it when it is cold so it holds together) and pan fry it in butter and olive oil until nicely browned. You will like it.

great story! The saints game was awesome. I wish I had some boudin.
